Lakme Fashion Winter/Festive 2017 Highlights

The Lakme fashion Winter/Festive was recently held at Hotel St. Regis Mumbai. The event lasted for 5 long days starting from 16th August 2017 to 20th August 2017. Many Indian designers like Masaba Gupta, Ritu Kumar, Falguni Shane Peacock, Rahul Mishra, Anushree reddy, Manish Malhotra, Gaurang etc showcased their designs. Bollywood celebs like Nargis Fakhri, Sunny Leone, Tapsee Pannu, Aditi Rao Hydri, Dia Mirza, Elli Avram, Shraddha Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, Kirti Sanon were among the few who walked the Lakme Fashion week 2017 ramp. Here we bring to you the highlights of all the 5 days of LFW 2017.

Day 1 Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017

We saw some amazing designs on day 1st of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. Sanjay Garg from the label Raw Mango presented some amazing handicraft motifs, floral and geometric prints on the fine fabrics.

In the Ritu Kumar collection we saw more of floral prints in pastel shades, embroidery and sequins work. Disha Patani walked the ramp for Ritu Kumar like a beach princess in an off white outfit having floral embroidery all over.



Day 2 LFW 2017

The Lakme fashion Week was completely based on the concept of ‘Sustainable Fashion and Indian Textiles’. Sanjukta Dutta presented her collection “Meekhela Chador” inspired by the ethnic designs of Assam. Preity Zinta turned out to be the show stopper in a black and red saree with temple border.


Actress Adah Sharma also walked the ramp in a multi layered dress for Lipsa Hembram Hembram’s ‘Galang Gabaan’.

Khadi silk saree collection was presented by the designer Sailesh Singhania. The hand woven silk sarees were inspired by the Pichwai paintings.


Day 3 Lakme Fashion Week

Lakme Fashion Week 2017 Day 3 bought in few amazing designers like Eka, Falguni & Shane Peacock and Rahul Mishra. Designer Falguni Shane Peacock collaborated with a jewellery designer Farah Khan and presented the most eye catching gowns that were crystal studded. Preity Zinta walked the ramp as show stopper for them and she looked no less than a princess in an off shoulder mint green gown.


Esha Gupta walked the run way for designer Amit Agarwal. She presented a contemporary style bridal lehenga in blue and golden color. The choli was in golden color which was quite glittery and the heavy gold embroidered indigo lehenga made the perfect combination. This was an experimental look given by the designer and the look worked very well and inspired women to go for a complete different bridal look rather than sticking to the regular maroon.

On the 3rd day Shraddha Kapoor turned muse for designer Rahul Mishra and it looked so perfect. Designer Rahul Mishra collection was inspired from the Bird song theme.  The fabrics were fine like chanderis, maheshwaris and banarasis which speak the Indian culture. Shraddha Kapoor looked absolutely stunning in a red choli and off white lehenga with birds embroidery all over. The hot red lipstick looked perfect.

Day 4 of LFW 2017

Paras and Sonam Modi presented their Bridal collection named “Naseem Bagh” on the fourth day of LFW 2017. Vani Kapoor walked the ramp for these designers wearing a beautiful crimson lehenga. For all the contemporary brides, Paras and Sonam Modi collection is a must watch.

This time Anushree Reddy got her outfits inspired from the princess of Hyderabad, Niloufer. The collection included hand embroidery work. The designer’s classic pastel shades floral hues were also presented. Colors like pastel hues, brunt orange, yellow were included. This time the designer also launched her own Men’s line which focused more on the ethnic wear needs of a modern man.  The collection included hand woven fabrics with detailed hand work and embellishments.

Day 5 of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive

The famous Bollywood designer, Manish Malhotra presented “Tales of Indulgence” which included bespoke menswear and women cocktail and festive wears. The collection included long velvet coats, bespoke suits, fur capes, corsets, ornate lehengas etc. This time the famous designer played more with crystal work, zardosi and beads.  Jacqueline and Aditya Roy Kapoor bought the perfect ending to the show as they both looked drapper in black.

Jayanti Reddy collection was targeted more towards youth. The collection included a fusion of western and Indian wear. Dhoti pants, wide legged palazzos, tunics, scarves with pom poms, ruffles were the highlights of the collection. Dishaa Patani walked the runway in a beautiful blue color lehenga choli and ivory mirror work dupatta.

Malaika Arora walked the runway for designer Divya Reddy at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. She walked in a stunning neon-geeen double layered frill lehenga, bralette style orange color choli and all over work sequins work choli. Middle parted hairs tied as low bun, a choker necklace and minimal make up, a small bindi made her look like a stunner on the runway.
