Insights from the Lakme Fashion Week 2014!!
Lakme Fashion Week 2014 was held in the month of march in the city of joy, Mumbai in which 98 ace fashion designers presented their latest designs. There were many bollywood celebrities who walked the ramp for their favorite designers. The summer lakme fashion week started from 12th march in which Sonal Chauhan was the show stopper.
Highlights Day 1:
Day 1 was quite a pleasing one as almost all the top designers presented their designs. The show stopper on the first day was Jacqueline Fernandez, Richa Chadda and Ali Fazal. Jaccqueline was looking stunning in a Tarun Tahiliani’s orange and pink net shaded kurta which she carried in a very royal way. The look was completed with heavy earings and kundan necklace. Highlight of the day was Sonakshi Sinha walking ramp for Manish Malhotra’s wearing his indowestern dress. Some bollywood celebs who were spotted at the event were Kajol, Tanisha, Kangana, Urmila, Tushaar Kapoor, Zayed Khan, Sonali Bendre, Hard Kaur and Ameesha Patel to name a few.
The second day was also occupied by the bollywood celebs. The Queen Kangana Ranaut walked the ramp in a sequin based gown looking total glittery. Top Asian model Lisa Haydon was looking stunning in an indowestern dress designed by Monica and Karishma. Their collection was named as “New age women” which was inspired by 1920’s fashion. The second day at LFW was also very special because Mandira Bedi made her debut in designing. Her collection of designer sarees with the name “Real women” was showcased and her mother Geeta Bedi was her show stopper. The collection included summer colors like blue, pink and green. This day was really special as many debuts were seen on this day, Adhuna Akthar, wife of Farhan Akthar also walked the ramp for the first time in which she displayed designer Ashmita designs. She was spotted in the ramp wearing palazzo pants with cropped top.
Manish Malhotra’s designs were praised a lot and some other designers whose deigns were liked alot includes Karishma Shahani Khan, Swapnil Shinde, Shruti Sancheti, Krishna Mehta, Anita Dongre and Nikhil-Shantanu.
