Highlights From The INDIA COUTURE WEEK 2014
Fashion Designers have just one dream that their designer sarees become so popular that every person feels like wearing them. Such beautiful designs were displayed in Delhi, INDIA COUTURE WEEK 2014 presented by FDCI Rajmahal Jewellers.
The first day was initiated with the beautiful collection “Ferozabad” of the very talented Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Like his designs the ramp was also very unique, attractive and for the very first time people saw a ramp which was set inside a vintage train and new age models displayed the collection there itself. This time it was not all retro look in his dresses instead all the attires included a lots of metallic work which he had never done before. Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s old friend and sister Rani Mukherjee also came in his support wearing his designed white zardosi designer saree and while talking to the media she also said that in the promotions of her upcoming movie “Mardani” she will wear her friend’s Sabya’s designed dresses.
The second day the ramp was taken over completely by Anju Modi, who had also designed Deepika Padukodne’s outfits for the movie Ramleela. She presented various tradional lehenga choli’s collection also dhoti pants for women, along with her Rina Dhaka also presented the lovely shararas and lehenga choli with work of kamdaani, zardosi and metallic gota patti work inspired from the culture of UP and Rajasthan. Malaika Arora Khan, who was the show stopper for Rina Dhaka walked the ramp in beige color saree and looked stunning.
Third day was ruled by the stunning white collection of Rohit Bal. He presented many white royal looking pieces like sarees, indowesterns , koti style and groom sherwani. Royal was his theme and those colorful pagris just added to the charm. Varun Bahl presented his designs “Indian Moderne” where he presented various anarkali designs but the innovation was that he discarded the “kalis” and presented a straight modern design.
Forth day of INDIA COUTURE WEEK 2014 went on the name of Gaurav Gupta. Shraddha Kapoor was his showstopper and she looked gorgeous in a white sequins mermaid gown. His “Wink of Nyx” creations included lots of gown in colors like black and gold. On complimenting his show stopper, Gaurav said that Shraddha looked like a goddess walking on the ramp and the collection was also dedicated to the god of nights.
The fifth day of the week was ruled by the King of the fashion industry, Manish Malhotra. He presented his latest bridal collection in the event wherein his show stoppers were bollywood stars Aditya Roy Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Walking the ramp in 20kg weighted heavy red bridal lehenga choli, Alia looked stunning and enjoyed modeling for such a great designer.
